West Ham United defeats Watford in the Premier LeaguePosted: February 14, 2018
West Ham gained a 2-0 victory against Watford on 10th of February. Hammers’ win in this match gained them essential points in reaching their manager’s target. Since David Moyes took over the club, he moved the team up the table from the 18th place. After the match he said that he aims to finish in the top-10 by the end of the season.
The Mexico forward, Javier Hernandez, opened the score in the 38th minute, after his first attempt, which was counted as an offside. Austria forward, Marko Arnautovic fired the second goal in the 78th minute, to seal the win for Hammers.
West Ham entered the game with a doubtful reputation after their FA Cup loss to League One team, Wigan Athletic, and four winless games in the Premier League. Despite the speculations, the club’s co-owner, David Sullivan, said that he wants to see Moyes in charge for some years. This result has brought new light on him, and whether he remains or not, many fans must have changed their impressions.
For Watford it became a disappointing defeat, especially after their recent 4-1 win over Chelsea. However, warning signs have been appearing all along, as they couldn’t win a game since the beginning of this year. Their boss, Javier Gracia said that his team’s play was very soft and they didn’t create good chances. Good news for him is that they will host next couple of games.
