West Bromwich Albion defeats Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League

West Brom gained a crucial win after defeating Tottenham by a 1-0 score on 5th of May.
Jake Livermore launched the goal in the extra time of the second half to give West Brom a Premier League survival hope. They still remain relegated, however, they might still go up depending on other teams’ results.

To finish above relegation, West Brom will have to win in their match against Crystal Palace and have a more positive goal difference than Southampton’s. Successively, Southampton will have to lose to Manchester City and Swansea should gain nothing less than a draw in their last match against Stoke. If West Brom will succeed in this season, it would become one of the best Premier League survival stories.

There were many attempts from Baggies, but the odds were on their side only towards the end. Harry Kane almost scored an own-goal, as the ball flew against him, but Hugo Lloris succeeded to counter it. Kane had the best opportunities for Spurs to fire against the hosts’, but Ben Foster saved his best attempt.

Tottenham could have won this round with a 74% possession, but there were many mistakes made against Baggies’ sturdy defence.

West Brom had a difficult season, with two wins at the beginning of the season. The next one came twenty games later. Since Darren Moore took over the club, the team has played a 1-0 win against Manchester United, a draw against Liverpool and now they gained another victory over Tottenham. This game gave them some hope for a good ending.
