Tottenham Hotspur defeats Everton in the Premier League

Everton lost to Tottenham by a 4-0 score in their Premier League encounter on 13th of January.

Son Heung-min fired the opener in the 26th minute, leaving Everton with the rest of the first half to recover. However, the visitors’ didn’t manage to respond as Harry Kane launched the second one for Spurs’ two minutes after the break. He scored another goal 12 minutes afterwards to become the all-time goal scorer for Spurs in the Premier League. The previous top scorer was Teddy Sheringham, who scored 97 in the Premier League for the club, one less than Kane.

As the late game was approaching, Everton’s chances for a win were becoming less. Christian Eriksen executed a brilliant late shot from the penalty area, to leave Spurs with a 4-0 win.

For Tottenham, the latest games emerged successfully, with six successive wins. They are now on point level with Liverpool who is in the 4th position in the league table, with 44 points.

For Everton it looks otherwise. They didn’t win any of their past six games and lost four of them. Their new assigned striker, Cenk Tosun, who has offered the Toffees some hope, couldn’t make a single shot on target until he was substituted in the second half. Wayne Rooney thought he scored in the first half, but his attempt was counted as an offside. Their boss, Sam Allardyce said that his side still needs somebody, who could rule the team out the of their troubled present state.
