Premier League: Machester City 4-0 West Ham

Manchester City remain top of the Premier League tables after 4-0 away victory against West Ham. With 35 league points at the moment, Man City is the only team that has not dropped points from the winning position this season, and is currently on their eighth consecutive victory.

Although Pep Guardiola’s side showed an excellent an clean display, with 70% possession of the ball and 89% pass precision, the manager still commented that the team and could have been in better shape during the game on Sunday. Guardiola also mentioned that the Hammers had several chances to score, but City was lucky enough to not let any of them hit home.

The score opened in the 11th minute when David Silva drove home Raheem Sterling’s deflected cross. City doubled their advantage a few moments later with Sterling tapping a Sane low cross into the net. The score stopped at 2-0 before half-time, but Sane scored another one for the team in the 34th minute. Although the Hammer’s fate was pretty much sealed at this point, few were expecting yet another Sane goal during injury time, which left the score at 4-0.

On the other hand, Hammers manager Pellegrini was not exactly unhappy with the way his team performed, despite the score, saying “It’s difficult to say when you lose 4-0 but I am happy the way we played. I am happy with a lot of things, just not the result but I think that the goals are not acceptable.”
