Huddersfield Town lose to Crystal Palace in the Premier LeaguePosted: March 21, 2018
Crystal Palace has exited relegation zone after defeating Huddersfield Town by a 0-2 score on 17th of March.
The opener was fired by James Tomkins from a close-range shot in the 23rd minute. Later on, in the second half, Luka Milivojevic converted a penalty opportunity to seal the score of the match.
The hosts attempted to threaten shortly after the first goal with Rajiv van La Parra’s shot, but the keeper Wayne Hennessey found it as an easy target.
Palace had a tough period in this season, ending only with five clean sheets. This win gained them important points, which keeps them off the relegation zone. Palace managed to maintain the lead due to brilliant Mamadou Sakha’s defence in the back and Tomkins’ performance in the front. However, one of the key presences was that of Wilfried Zaha. In the nine games, as he was absent from his team’s games, they didn’t get a single point. Zaha led the team to the first goal, as he fired from the corner to Tomkins.
The Terriers are enduring critical times now, as they have only a three-point gap between them and relegation. As they progressed into the Premier League for the first time in this season, it remains crucial for them to maintain themselves in the top-flight. There are still several games left, where more chances will be presented to them.
