Barcelona wins the Spanish La Liga

Barcelona has won La Liga cup after defeating Deportiva La Coruna by a 2-4 score on 29th of April. The most prominent occurrence became Lionel Messi’s hat-trick, which gave Barca an overwhelming lead in the final minutes.

The opener was fired by Philippe Coutinho in the 7th minute to give Barcelona the lead. Messi doubled the score in the 38th minute to offer his team a confident result. However, Depor fired one back from Lucaz Perez’ shot two minutes afterwards. The equalizer came in the second half, as Emre Colak fired past the opponents’ defence.

Both teams were left with a difficult task to manifest themselves in the final minutes, but only Barca found an appropriate opening to snatch the win. Messi launched two goals in the closing eight minutes, which sealed Barca’s La Liga cup.

Messi’s hat-trick became his 46th for the club and country. The Argentian fired the last goals from close range, ensuring that the opponents won’t take the title from them. Luis Suarez played a crucial role, as he assisted all of Messi’s goals in this match.

Ernesto Valverde became Barca’s manager in May 2017. There was much scepticism, about how Athletic Bilbao’s ex-manager will manage the team. However, he brought Barca to their 25th La Liga cup. They exited the Champions League previous month after suffering defeat by Roma. They have still collected two trophies in this season, with the first one in the 5-0 win against Sevilla in the finals of the Copa del Rey.
