Arsenal beat Stoke by a 3-0 score on 1st of April.
In the first half, the play of both teams hasn’t produced any intriguing results. After the end of the first 45 minutes, the crowd have booed the Gunners for their poor activity. They had only one spectacular moment before the break which came from Aaron Ramsey as he fired against the crossbar.
In the second half, the game became more alive, as the teams found more chances the exploit each other. After Stoke tried to launch against Gunners defence, the ball came back to the other end of the field, where the hosts received a penalty opportunity, when Bruno Martins Indi challenged Mesut Ozil.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fired from the spot to score from his penalty chance. Ten minutes afterwards, he doubled the score from Ozil’s corner delivery. Three minutes later, Badou Ndiaye challenged Alexandre Lacazette inside the box to be warned with a penalty. Lacazette converted from the spot to offer the Gunners an unexpected 3-0 win against Stoke.
Stoke stay at the bottom of the league in the relegation zone possessing 27 points. Arsenal is 6th, needing five more points to equal the point amount of the 5th placed Chelsea.
Arsenal plays next against CSKA Moscow in the Europa League quarter-final on 5th of April, while Stoke will face Tottenham at home on 7th of April.
