Arsenal defeats Huddersfield Town in the Premier League

Arsene Wenger has accompanied Arsenal in his last game as the team’s manager against Huddersfield, that ended with a 0-1 win on 13th of May. The decisive goal was fired by Wenger’s latest signing, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, from a low cross after Aaron Ramsey’s delivery.

Gunner’s win and Huddersfield’s loss didn’t change much in the table. Arsenal has finished sixth – their lowest position since Wenger got in charge. The Terriers ended safely above relegation, on 16th.

The last game became Gunner’s manager’s 1235th after a 22-year period. He brought them three Premier League trophies and seven FA Cups. Their latest Europa league match against Atletico Madrid conceived some hope for Wenger, however, the Spanish team took the win, to leave Arsenal out of the Champions League for the second successive season. The Frenchman could remain satisfied after the last win, as the team experienced seven Premier League away defeats until to this match.

Arsenal remains now with the task to find a replacement for Wenger until the next season kicks in.
The Terriers lost this game, but this hasn’t deprived the home fans, who saw the team survive in the league. The team made it for the first time out since 1972.

In the late game they could inflict most of the damage, however, their biggest opportunity went against the crossbar. Their boss, David Wagner commented that they have reached an incredible achievement by finishing 16th in this season.
