Arsenal defeats Watford in the Premier LeaguePosted: March 14, 2018
Arsenal gained a 3-0 win in the Premier League encounter against Watford on 11th of March. It has been a difficult period for the Gunners, but they managed to inflict a surprise with their comfortable win. Their previous won match occurred against Everton on 3rd of February.
The Gunners started to dominate in the early game, as Shkodran Mustafi fired the opener in the 8th minute. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the score in the second half. Henrikh Mkhitaryan sealed the mark in the late game, to give Arsene Wenger’s side a firm victory.
The Hornets had their best chance cleared by the home keeper, Petr Cech. When Roberto Pereyra was fouled in the penalty area in a move made by Alex Iwobi and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Watford’s captain Troy Deeney stepped in to launch the ball. However, Deeney’s shot was masterly saved by Cech.
Watford stays in the 10th position in the Premier League table with 36 points. They went through good and bad, but their quality ensures that they would go on for another Premier League season.
The Gunners stay sixth in the table, however, they still have a chance to participate in the Champions League. If they finish the Europa League successfully, Wenger might see his team play in the Champions League in this season. However, Wenger made six changes in this game, which might impact the upcoming games. Despite that, it paid off, as the team achieved a deserved victory.
