Arsenal gained a 2-1 win against Chelsea in the second-leg match of the Carabao Cup semi-final on 24th of January. Arsenal emerged victorious in their clash, after their goalless first-leg game.
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard opener the score in the 7th minute, however, and own Antonio Rudiger goal has equalised the score for the Gunners. The first half continued goalless, and it was Granit Xhaka who sealed the score in the second half to give Arsenal the win.
It has been a distressing period for Gunners, as they haven’t shown any productive plays in the previous games. The departure of Alexis Sanchez has drawn more uncertainty. The deal was executed two days before the match, where Manchester United has exchanged Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Sanchez.
Gunners display has improved, while they suffered the opener against them, the home fans could expect for the worst to come. However, they recovered and initiated a boost which left Antonio Conte’s side behind.
Chelsea from the other side was showing great results with successive 12 undefeated games in every competition. Their play was dull in this game, but that might be the consequences of their active play in the Premier League.
Arsenal will play in the finals against Manchester City on 25th of February. It will surely be an outstanding occurrence and Arsene Wenger’s side will have the chance to snatch the trophy for the first time since 1993.
